Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Clashed Over Parenting Styles During Their Marriage

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were married, they reportedly “clashed” over how to parent their six kids.

Those sorts of disagreements were seemingly just part of why the couple’s marriage fell apart. Brad grew up with a structured lifestyle and wanted more rules for the kids. He took on more of a disciplinarian role than Angelina. Angelina, on the other hand, grew up with more independence. She wanted the kids to be independent and have more control of their schedules and responsibilities. Although they clashed in parenting styles, they had similar views of how they wanted the kid’s futures to look. They wanted the kids to receive a combination of traditional schooling while also experiencing the world firsthand.

Sources say both Brad and Angelina care deeply about their children. It’s just difficult when they start living such different lives and put different views of each other into the kids’ ears. Within the past month, reports have said Brad has had the most estranged relationship with the majority of their kids. Pitt is said to have “little to no contact” with his adult children. 4 out of 6 of the couple’s children are of adult age. Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh 18. The other 2 children, Knox and Vivienne currently being 16 years old respectively. Pitt’s contact with the youngest 2 children has also been limited as his filming schedules became busier with upcoming projects.

Jolie filed for sole custody of the kids along with the couple’s divorce in 2016. Although Brad has a new partner and was granted visitation to the kids by the court, he still misses his old connection and contact with the children.
