Highlights of the Premiere Night

Moving on to the premiere night kicked off with an opening number, where all the professional dancers performed together.

The show honoured the previous judge, Len Goodman, who retired from the show last season before his death in April from Bone Cancer. As a tribute to him, The Mirrorball Trophy is renamed to Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

The duo of Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy kickstarted the competition by performing Cha Cha on the song “Peanut Butter Jelly” by Galantis.

After all the performances, the top three couples with the highest scores were Charity and Artem with 22 out of 30, Ariana and Pasha and Jason and Daniella with 21 out of 30.

Whereas, Matt Walsh and Koko Iwasaki, Tyson Beckford and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy and Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold were the couples with the lowest score of 12 out of 30.

However, after combining the judge’s scores with audience votes, Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater and Matt Walsh and Koko Iwasaki were in the bottom two.

Unfortunately, Matt and Koko became the first couple to get eliminated.
