FLY GEENIUS is pleased to present its first collaboration from #blockstobrownstones, a new project based on the dialogue between its own streetwear brand and select talents with the intent to build community through fashion.

October 8th marked the unveiling of the Fly Geenius x Vanson Leathers F/W 21 Capsule Collection, a creative partnership with Dave East’s From The Dirt brand, featuring several custom-designed Vanson Leathers jackets the iconic motorcycle leather manufacturer is famed for. Its unique blend of functional gear and iconic statement wear became a staple for the biggest names in hip hop during the ’90s; a serious status symbol in the game.

With NYC being the birthplace for distinct styles and creativity, this BLOCKS TO BROWNSTONES series highlights NY culture and the dream of making it in the city through the lens of East. We learn firsthand in an exclusive interview, how East’s personal journey has kept him close to his roots while reaching an elevated state of flyness and sophistication; the same mantra Fly Geenius was founded on.

Since 2011, Fly Geenius has built a sizable repertoire, designing streetwear for influential music artists, as well as urban lifestyle brands such as Urban Outfitters. Fly Geenius’s most recent effort to building community is a collection of hats and shirts alongside an installation at the popular New Museum’s store in downtown Manhattan, picking up on the pertinent topic of racism in America.

Three Vanson Leather Jackets, the core of this debut collection, are delivering the aforementioned symbolism with the color ways of East’s brand, an adornment of logos, patches, and a custom lining. Be sure to also check out the rest of the collection, which includes a limited edition bullet-proof style vest and beautifully made two-tone hoodies.

Please join Fly Geenius, Dave East (who will personally attend the event), and Vanson Leathers to promote fashion as a tool for motivation, and empowerment during the release event on October 8. Detailed event information and merchandise will be available on their website http://www.flygeenius.com
