Drew Taggart The Chainsmokers: “I know that I’m flawed”

The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart posted a video on Wednesday of him playing the groups’s new single “Self Destruction Mode” on the piano.  Chainsmokers’ new singling features bludnymph. In Taggart’s caption, he explains the meaning behind the song. He wrote, “i’ve struggled with drinking throughout my career as it’s an addiction that’s woven into the environment we exist in.” He continues by writing, “This guilt of not being good enough or not being better ironically sends me into a spiral that restarts my bad habit cycle.”

The ‘Closer‘ artist shares a vulnerable side to him and fans comment on their support for him. A fan wrote, “Drew please nobody here is perfect, so thank you for being real. I hope you are doing the best you can.” Several other fans brace their support and experience with alcoholism. Drew Taggart concludes his post by saying, “This song isn’t a cry for help but more of an embrace or celebration of all that I am. I know that I’m flawed. I know that I am great and so are you. Never forget it.”

His caption reflects the lyrics within the song. “I woke up in self-destruction mode/I press go and I do it again/I love my sins, they’re all I know/We got closer than all of my friends.” The Chainsmokers released Self Destruction Mode on June 1st.
