During one of the iHeart’s Table For Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast episodes, Emily Blunt mentioned she would be taking a break from acting.

“This year, I’m not working. I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits,” the Oppenheimer star said.

“And I just feel [like] there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little. And it’s, ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’ And I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch. And I just felt that in my bones.” Emily added.

Blunt also spoke about feeling “bad” as a mother when she works too much. “I think maybe all mothers are. You’re just prone to feeling bad for, God forbid, wanting something outside of being a mother.” she said.

Emily Blunt married her now husband, John Krasinski, in 2010. According to this source, they started dating in 2008 and got engaged in 2009. In 2014, the couple welcomed their first baby, a girl, Hazel Grace. Two years later, Emily and John welcomed their second daughter, Violet.

Earlier this year, Emily, 40, confessed that her kids are not thrilled about her acting career.

“When I see myself up on a billboard, I have this complete dissociation with it … I’m like, ‘Who’s that?’ And I can see my children doing the same — they might say, ‘Oh, there’s Mama,’ but it’s not exciting for them. What’s exciting for them is when I can pick them up from school and take them swimming,” she said.
