The Finalists for the College Football Heisman Race have been Released.

December 13, 2024- The 2024 Heisman finalists have been revealed. Boulders Travis Hunter is named the heavy favorite, with Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty trailing close behind.

With the CFP season coming to a close, the Heisman selection looms near. This Saturday, the best player in college football will be crowned with the Heisman trophy.

It has been a tight race and a great year of football. The four finalists are Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty, Dillon Gabriel, and Cam Ward.

Travis Hunter

Hunter has the opportunity to be the first two-way player to win the Heisman since Charles Woodson in 1997.

He doubles at both the wide receiver and the cornerback position. Playing over 100 snaps a game and locking down receivers while also torching defenses on offense.

Hunter is the favorite to win this late in the season. His stats on the season are very impressive as well. He has tallied up 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns this season on offense. He has also accumulated 4 interceptions as a cornerback.

Ashton Jeanty

Jeanty has had a monster season. The Boise State running back is on pace to beat the current rushing record of 2,628 yards in a season. Jeanty currently sits at 2,497. He has 29 touchdowns on the year and has been the go-to weapon for the Boise State offense.

Jeanty is averaging nearly 192 yards per game. He is the strongest runner in all of college football and is easily a top-1o draft pick in the upcoming draft regardless of a Heisman victory or not.

Dillon Gabriel

Gabriel has led the Oregon Ducks to an undefeated season. Even more impressive is that this year was a conference switch for Oregon, transferring from the PAC 12 to the BIG 10. The immediate dominance in a new division coupled with the elite level of play from Gabriel has made him a strong contender for the Heisman.

Gabriel is now the 5th Duck to be a Heisman finalist and will likely bring Oregon to the national championship.

Gabriel has thrown for 3,558 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions. His QBR of 86.5 is the second-best in the league. Safe to say that Gabriel has been lights out this year.

He has also tallied 7 rushing touchdowns on top of the 28 passing touchdowns.

Cam Ward

University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward has been an offensive juggernaut this year. He has thrown for 4,123 yards with 36 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. His QBR of 88 leads the league in regard to quarterback efficiency.

While the Hurricanes have unfortunately missed the CFP playoffs don’t let that distract you from the monster season he has had. Ward has kept his team alive to a record of 10-2. The Hurricanes defense has been lackluster this season and it has been all Cam Ward all year long. He has the winning mentality and the throwing capability of an NFL-level quarterback. He has proven that he is in the “elite” tier of all college football players with his performance this season.

Who Will Win the Heisman?

Despite all of these great players and their exceptional performances. The Heisman trophy will likely fall to either Travis Hunter or Ashton Jeanty. Both have been exceptionally remarkable this season and have each cemented themselves as superstars.

It’s all up to the voters now.
