According to this TikTok video posted by user @iainrphillips, Jason Oppenheim is allegedly being sued for selling a “faulty mansion” as outlined in this related article.

Jason Oppenheim Sued
As the TikToker notes, Oppenheim is allegedly being sued for $1.7 million as a buyer is claiming Oppenheim knew “material facts he did not disclose” about a $5 million property. In this supposed lawsuit, it is being alleged that Oppenheim covered up major issues about the house and did not tell the buyer. The buyer is alleging that it is going to take $1.7 million to fix these supposed property issues as a result.
As the TikToker notes, the buyer is also suing the previous owners of the home, claiming that the sellers knew about major issues and alleged leaks in the house, costing the buyer more money to fix than initially planned. The TikToker explains that in instances like this, the seller may have to pay the entire lawsuit if found guilty. If Oppenheim did know the major issues and did not tell the buyer, the TikToker claims that this could also be “bad.” Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
The TikToker reiterates that the seller is often responsible for lawsuits as when you get into escrow as a buyer, you get a seller disclosure package outlining anything that is wrong with the house. If the seller did not put the issues on the seller disclosure sheet, then they are “absolutely responsible” as the TikToker claims. If it is on the sheet and the buyer didn’t read it, then the buyer is responsible. If Oppenheim read it and didn’t tell the buyer then it could also be “bad.” The TikToker reiterates the importance of conducting due diligence when buying a home.
