Jimmy Buffett Cause Of Death

It was announced today that American singer-songwriter and entrepreneur Jimmy Buffet has passed away. Known for his tropical-inspired music, Jimmy Buffet brought us classic songs like ‘Margaritaville’ along with successful restaurant and hotel chains by the same name.

His team posted a statement via his social media accounts and official website. It reads “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”

Though it was not mentioned in the initial announcement, it was revealed in his obituary that Jimmy Buffett passed from Merkel cell skin cancer. The National Cancer Institute defines this particular cancer as “a very rare disease in which malignant cells form in the skin” that can be caused by “sun exposure and having a weak immune system”.
