Award Winning Actor Alan Arkin Has Died At 89

Legendary actor Alan Arkin has died at 89 years old. Family, fans and friends are looking back on their time with the actor, and paying their respects.

It was announced last night, June 30th, that Oscar and Tony winning actor Alan Arkin has been pronounced dead at 89 years old. The cause of his death is still unknown. His sons Matthew, Anthony and Adam released a direct statement on the family’s behalf, saying: “Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man. A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed.”.

Alan Arkin is best known for his work in ‘Argo’, ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and ‘The Kominsky Method’.

His fellow actors are expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the him on social media. Viola Davis wrote on Instagram: “Our work inspired a generation of actors and reminded us how powerful our art can shift us. Rest well! Many flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”.

Patton Oswalt tweeted:

Steve Carrell shared this memory: “When I first met Alan, he gave me a business card, it said ‘Alan Arkin: Actor Director, Musician. Can drive stick shift. Owns own tux.’ He was my idol, my friend, and I loved him.”

Arkin is survived by his wife Suzanna, his sons Matthew, Anthony and Adam, his grandchildren Molly, Emmet, Atticus and Abigail, and finally, his great-grandson Elliot.
