Carol Bongiovi, mother to rockstar Jon Bon Jovi and former model, has passed away on July 9^th.

July 10, 2024- Mother of rockstar Jon Bon Jovi, Carol “Mom Jovi” Bongiovi, has passed away at 83 years old on Tuesday, July 9^th.

In a statement to People, Bon Jovi said, “Our mother was a force to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family. She will be greatly missed.”

People also confirmed that Carol passed at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, N.J.

Carol Bongiovi, whose maiden name was Sharkey, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1940.

Bongiovi was an entrepreneur who ran various businesses and once worked as a Playboy Bunny.

Most notably, she founded the Bon Jovi fan club.

Before the birth of her three sons, Bongiovi joined the U.S. Marine Corps in the late ‘50s, where she met her husband.

Back in May, Bon Jovi posted on Instagram for Mother’s Day to commemorate his mother and wife for their work as moms.

“To all the moms out there, thank you for always being there!” Bon Jovi wrote.

Bon Jovi has been married to his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, for 35 years.

During Bon Jovi’s “The New Jersey Syndicate” Tour, Bon Jovi made a secret trip to Las Vegas to marry Hurley at the Graceland Wedding Chapel.

The pair share four children together: Jake, Stephanie, Jesse, and Romeo.

One of Bon Jovi’s sons, Jake, recently married “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown.

Jake, 22, first began seeing Brown in 2021.

The pair announced their engagement in 2023, and were married in May of 2024 in a private ceremony.
