The American singer Katy Perry revealed turning down an opportunity to collaborate with fellow American singer Billie Eilish on Ocean Eyes.

Pop singer-hitmaker Katy Perry opened up about her “huge” regret for passing on the chance to sing with Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish on hit track Ocean Eyes, explaining: “It was a song called ‘Ocean Eyes,’ and it was just a blonde girl… And I was like, ‘Meh, boring.'”

Katy Perry originally received an email saying: “Hey, check out this new artist. I’d really like us to work with her because she was working with me for Unsub [Records],” before she rejected the offer to work with Billie Eilish. However, she admitted it was a “big mistake, huge mistake,” adding, “don’t let this hit the internet.”

Billie Eilish first rose to fame in 2015 with her breakout hit Ocean Eyes and has gained global attention making her one of the top names in the music world, as she won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and Oscar for Best Original Song.

Both musicians Katy Perry and Billie Eilish have no hard feelings. Instead, the pair became friends after appearing in Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry documentary in 2021. That’s when Katy Perry introduced herself and her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom to the young singer, who at first didn’t recognize the actor from the Pirates of the Caribbean as she told her“My fiancé who doesn’t listen to modern music, he’ll only play you in the car all the time.”
