Peter Phillips, nephew to King Charles III, gave a health update on the king’s cancer treatment during an interview with Sky News Australia.
Phillips, son of the king’s sister, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, spoke to Caroline Di Russo during his annual visit to Australia. The royal family member was there to represent the International Foundation for Arts and Culture (IFAC), a non-profit organization founded in Japan in 1999. IFAC provides support and funding for international programs “that aim to champion and advance arts, culture and education globally,”
When asked about the king’s health, Phillips said that King Charles is in “good spirits” and he’s also “frustrated” that the treatment doesn’t allow him to continue his normal activities.
“But he’s very pragmatic,” Phillips continues, and said the king “understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself,”
The king’s nephew added that King Charles is “keen to get back to a form of normality,”
King Charles Diagnosis Catherine Princess of Wales
The interview comes just after the shocking revelation that the king’s daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, is undergoing preventative treatment for cancer following a planned abdominal surgery earlier this year.
As HOLR reported, the type of cancers the king and princess have are unknown. Both underwent surgeries where doctors discovered their respective cancers. Since the princess hasn’t been seen in public since her abdominal surgery, internet rumors of her whereabouts swirled. This only intensified after several major news agencies revealed that at least two photographs of several royal family members, including Catherine and her late mother-in-law, were altered.
The interview with Peter Phillips was filmed before the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis.
