Megan Fox talks toxic men “keeping the secrets of men” and “carrying the weight of their sins”

On Tuesday, Megan Fox announced the release of her new poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. Fox’s poetry collection will be released on November 7th and will be published by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. The publisher describes the book as the “powerful debut from one of the most well-known women of our time.” During a press release, Simon & Schuster mentions that Megan’s collection of over 70 poems is “heartbreaking and dark” and that the book reveals her “wicked humor.” And this isn’t Megan’s first time to reveal some of her poetry work. Back in February of 2021, Fox dedicated a poem to her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly for Valentine’s Day.

Megan Fox dedicated a post on her Instagram to her upcoming poetry collection. Within the second photo she writes, “These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that has taken root in me because of my silence. I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what’s been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness.”

The Jennifer’s Body actress has a deep soul and has dealt with serious misunderstandings and sexism throughout her career. She has always been a woman with a strong voice but felt ahead of her time in regard to the #MeToo movement. “I think that I was ahead of the #MeToo movement by almost a decade,” Fox said. “I was always speaking out against some of the abusive, misogynistic, patriarchal things that were going on in Hollywood back in 2008 and 2009, way before people were ready to embrace that or tolerate it. And I actually got ridiculed for doing it.”
