Paul Pelosi Attack
According to this article posted by CNN, a jury recently found David DePape guilty on two counts. This verdict encompassed the attack on Paul Pelosi- who is the husband of Nancy Pelosi- that occurred last year in their home in San Francisco. As mentioned in the article, DePape was convicted of one count of assault on the immediate family member of a federal official. He was also convicted of a second count of attempted kidnapping of a federal official.
As noted here, prosecutors reportedly claimed that DePape broke into the home with an alleged agenda to “kidnap Nancy Pelosi” and “hold her hostage.” DePape was allegedly surprised to learn that Nancy was not home at the time. Here is what he reportedly said: “I’m telling him, I have other targets, but if you stop me, I’ll go through you.”
According to the article, Pelosi was struck with a hammer and underwent surgery to repair a skull fracture. He also had reported injuries to his hand and arm.
