In the voicemail, Pete goes off on the organization for publically shaming him for buying a dog instead of adopting one. He goes on to address their claims against him by stating that he is severely allergic to dogs and needs to have a specific breed. He then goes on to say that his mom’s dog just passed and that his family is grieving. Finally, he tells the company to do their “research” before creating news stories for people. He also drops a few F-bombs before the clip cuts out.
As mentioned in the TikTok video, TMZ reported the news here that the Senior VP reached out via statement to TMZ to express “PETA’s collective disappointment in Pete buying a puppy instead of adopting from a shelter.”
PETA also doubled down on their statements by stating, “If Pete had done his research, he would know that there’s no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, that at least a quarter of dogs in shelters are purebreds, and that Petfinder has listings for homeless dogs of every breed under the sun, including the one he purchased.”
As noted here, Pete admitted to not being aware that he could adopt “a specific hypoallergenic dog” but made note of the fact that he “shouldn’t have said” what he said, but that he is “not sorry for standing up” for himself and his family.
