Sabrina Carpenter has finally released the deluxe version of her Grammy award winning album Short n’ Sweet. However, fans have been less than welcoming towards the new version of ”Please Please Please.”

Sabrina Carpenter ”Please Please Please”

February 19, 2025- Sabrina Carpenter is undeniably a pop star for a modern audience. For example, the singer has a cynical view of romance that younger music fans can relate to. Nowhere is this more obvious than in Short n’ Sweet’s second single ‘‘Please Please Please.”As outlined in Genius, the lyrics describe Sabrina’s sense of insecurity in a relationship with a foolish partner. As a result, Carpenter begs the unnamed boyfriend not to ”embarrass me” in an attempt to protect both her relationship and ego.

Sabrina Carpenter Dolly Parton

Despite her modern take on love, Sabrina’s artistry is heavily inspired by older music icons. Therefore, fans were excited when Sabrina announced that ”Please Please Please ft. Dolly Parton” was going to be in Short n’ Sweet Deluxe. However, the country version of the hit song has failed to meet the same level of praise as the other new tracks.

”Please Please Please ft Dolly”

Sabrina fans on TikTok have been vocal about disliking Dolly’s verse, with many agreeing that her vocals do not match Sabrina’s musical style.

Look I LOVE Dolly and respect her but her voice doesn’t fit this song, and their vocals just don’t match in this song,” wrote one user.

Meanwhile, other users have compared Dolly’s verse to someone sneaking up behind you, with some even calling her part unsettling.

However, the song also has many defenders. Some users have highlighted that Dolly sounds great for 79. Other fans have also pointed out that this is just Dolly’s style of singing.

It’s so clear that some of you have never listened to a Dolly song except for ”Jolene” and ”9 to 5,” wrote one user.

Nonetheless, Sabrina has been openly delighted about working with the country icon and even released a music video with Dolly.
