Amazon’s global fashion competition will return for its third season this summer! The series will return to Los Angeles’ sunny backdrop with runway locations in Rodeo Drive, Vasquez Rocks, and Downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers. Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn will come back to reprise their roles as fashion experts and guardians for the new group of designers. In addition to the duo, House of Harlow 1860 creative director Nicole Richie and fashion designer Jeremy Scott will join them as judges. A whole new set of guest judges—-who are yet to be announced—-will make appearances throughout the season.

A shoppable fashion competition

Making The Cut is the first-ever global fashion competition that is also instantly shoppable thanks to Amazon Fashion’s Making The Cut store. The competition brings in a diverse group of fashion designers and entrepreneurs to compete for a chance to win $1 million and an exclusive line on Amazon Fashion. A unique aspect of the show is that viewers can buy each week’s winning look at Making The Cut Store. So if you happen to love a look, you don’t have to only admire it on screen, you can wear it yourself!

In season 1, the contestants travelled to fashion capitals of the world like New York and Tokyo and faced challenges that push their capabilities as designers and entrepreneurs. For its first season, Amazon did not hold back with their roster of guest judges. Fashion icons and experts like supermodel Naomi Campbell, fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra, and fashion editor Carine Roitfeld critiqued the 12 talented contestants. In the end, designer Jonny Cota made the cut. You can view the Jonny Cota Studio Amazon Fashion line HERE.

While season 1 featured great cities, season 2 took root in Los Angeles due to the restrictions from the ongoing pandemic. However, that did not slow down nor stop the show’s ability to challenge its contestants. In relation to the difficulties posed by the pandemic, Making The Cut implored the new group of designers on how to grow their businesses. Andrea Pitter was crowned the season 2 winner and her brand Pantora is now available on Amazon Fashion.
