After six years of marriage Ricky Martin and his husband Jwan Yosef are getting a divorce. The couple released a joint statement, both in Spanish and English, on Instagram reading: “For some time, we have considered transforming our relationship, and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children – preserving and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all of these wonderful years,”
It seems that the two have ended their marriage on ‘good’ terms, but this is not the last we will see of them together. Like they said, their relationship is changing; they will still be quite present in each other’s lives just not in a romantic sense. Martin and Yosef share four children, and they have expressed that their kids are their main priority as they move through this process.

They went into more detail on the subject in their statement adding: “Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on our genuine friendship as we continue the joint upbringing of our children– We are united in nurturing this new chapter of our lives.”
They ended their statement with: “As always, we thank you for all the love and support we received throughout our marriage.”
