A survey has revealed that a majority of scientists support the idea that alien life exists somewhere in the universe.
Survey Results on Alien Belief
A survey has revealed that almost nine in ten (86 per cent) astrobiologists – who study extraterrestrials for a living – concur that aliens are present somewhere in the universe. Less than two per cent disagreed with the viewpoint while 12 per cent of experts opted to stay neutral on the matter.
More scientists (88 per cent) working in other fields, such as biologists and physicists, also agree that the little green men are real.
Evidence Supporting Alien Life
Boffins from Birmingham, Durham and Edinburgh universities – who carried out the research – argue that the findings come as no surprise as there is plenty of evidence to suggest extraterrestrials exist.
They said: “One cannot say that astrobiologists are biased toward believing in extraterrestrial life, compared with other scientists.
“There is actually a lot of ‘indirect’ or ‘theoretical’ evidence that alien life exists.
“For example, we do now know that habitable environments are very common in the universe.”
