Is Stranger Things season 5 coming 2024?

David Harbour, who plays Sherriff Jim Hopper on Stranger Things teased that production could resume in a couple of days.

While speaking candidly with People recently, Harbour revealed that they are anxious to resume production.

“They literally called me, I think it was 10 minutes after the SAG thing on Twitter,” Harbour told People.

“The first Assistant Director is like, ‘So, get the flight for you on Monday, right? We’ll be acting in Atlanta.'”

Harbour also revealed a sense of urgency for the cast and crew to get back on set, citing “we’re already behind schedule.”

“I mean, we got to film that last season of Stranger Things, don’t we? I got to be down there, like, in a couple of days. We got to get going — we’re late.”

Here’s hoping Harbour is right and they do start filming soon.

As we wait for the confirmation’s fans are desperate for, there have been some rumours about what could be expected in season 5.

Firstly, it’s rumoured that fans can expect at least 8 episodes for the final season.

Check out this tweet from 2022.

And according to an article by Elle on November 8, while the episodes might be shorter than season four,

It’s likely that the season five finale will be 2.5 hours long.

Additionally, there has been suggestions that there might be a bit of a time jump from season four.

Although, not much more was said about it.

But most telling is that the producers teased the premise for season five without really revealing anything.

So, what do fans have to look forward to?

Ross Duffer told The Wrap in May 2022, “We do have an outline for season 5 and we pitched it to Netflix, and they really responded well to it.”

And apparently, it’s going to be a tearjerker.
