According to several news outlets, Travis Scott will not face criminal charges following the tragedy during his concert at the Astroworld Music Festival in 2021. Thousands of people were injured, and ten died after the crowd rushed the stage during Scott’s performance.

According to Reuters, Travis Scott’s lawyer, Kent Schaffer, stated that the rapper should not face criminal charges following the incident. “Nothing Travis did or failed to do fits within the Texas criminal code.” the attorney said.

The Texas grand jury that gathered on Thursday concluded that neither Scott nor the event’s organizers would be facing criminal charges.

Travis’ attorney opened up about the decision to ABC13, mentioning that, “It has just been confirmed to me that the grand jury no-billed Travis Scott, which is great relief to Travis. It’s something we were hoping, something we expected based on lack of evidence. Everything was presented to the grand jury, and they found there was no criminal liability on Travis’ part.”
