On Friday night, Travis Scott had a festival for the Astro World Tour in Houston Texas. During the festival 8 people died and hundreds have been injured as the crowd rushed the stage.
The festival had around 50,000 in the audience with 528 houston police officers and 755 private security guards. After the incident Travis posted on twitter “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.”
People who attended the concert have made statements about what was happening during the show. “I couldn’t even stand or breathe or anything, as the countdown was going to zero, it didn’t make it through one full song before people just started collapsing and falling back.”
Many can assume that the reason this happened was not because of lack of security, but because of the ‘hype’ for watching Travis Scott preform, especially at an exclusive festival.
Out of the 8 identified, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said Saturday that one of the victims was 14, one was 16, two were 21, two were 23, one was 27 and one person’s age has not been determined. Only six of the families have been notified.
Live Nation and Travis Scott are full cooperating in the ongoing investigation being held by the Houston PD.
