As noted in the TikTok video, this marks Kimmel’s 4th time hosting The Academy Awards. Kimmel being the host for the fourth time was met with some criticism as noted in the TikTok video, as people were hoping to see a different host this time around.

Previous hosts of the Oscars include; Chris Rock, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen Degeneres, Billy Crystal, Seth MacFarlane, and Hugh Jackman among others. Some of The Academy Awards have also seen people co-host, such as in 2011 at the 83rd Oscars when James Franco and Anne Hathaway co-hosted together.
