This TikTok video posted by user @playthehitslive a few days ago exposed that Daryl Hall filed a lawsuit and requested a restraining order on November 16 against music partner John Oates.

What is the Hall and Oates lawsuit about?
In an interview with Bill Maher, Hall stated that he doesn’t “have a partner.” Although they tour together he claims they’re not partners- only business partners.

Originally, no one knew what went wrong because the case had allegedly been sealed. Hall and Oates met in 1967 and formed a duo years later having a successful career and lots of hits.
Hall and Oates Lawsuit
As noted in this article, Hall filed a temporary restraining order against his music partner Oates. As mentioned in the article, it was recently revealed that Hall is reportedly “suing Oates to stop him from selling his share of their joint venture Whole Oats Enterprises to Primary Wave Music.” In an updated video (here) posted by user @playthehitslive, it is alleged that Hall sued Oates over a business arrangement.

As noted in the updated TikTok video, a national judge reportedly issued a temporary restraining order against Oates preventing the sale to Primary Wave Music. The legal battle supposedly involves rules for solo performances, other financial matters etc. As well, the TikToker mentions that Hall also claimed a breach of confidentiality happened in sharing business details with Primary Wave when Oates was reportedly looking to sell. As a result, Hall’s team is arguing that the entire deal Oates is putting together is unauthorized, a breach of contract, etc.
The case is said to be heard on November 30.
