Taylor Swift is feeling (class of) 22’ after receiving her honorary doctorate, which she manifested several years ago!

Forget the Grammys or any other prestigious music award. Blondie has been there and done that. After having her eye on the honorary degree for several years, Ms. Swift now has the title of “Doctor” under her belt.
Throwing it back to 2016: Taylor Manifests Honorary Doctorate Degree

Back in 2016, the singer-songwriter starred in Vogue’s ‘73 Questions’ series where she answered rapid-fire questions.
Near the end of the video, the host asks Taylor, “What’s one goal you’re determined to achieve in your lifetime?” In response, she revealed her hopes of attaining an honorary doctorate degree. “I really want an honorary doctorate degree because Ed Sheeran has one and I feel like he looks down on me now ’cause I don’t have one,” Taylor jokingly shared. However, she was only being playful about Ed Sheeran looking down on her as they are lifelong friends. They have collaborated on multiple songs such as “The Joker And The Queen” and “Everything Has Changed.” But Ed Sheeran better watch out as Taylor has recently joined the honorary doctorate club!
Taylor’s ‘Get Ready With Me’ TikTok Ahead of The Ceremony

Welcome to New York (University), Taylor! Before attending the ceremony, she posted a ‘get ready with me’ video of herself on TikTok in a cap and gown. The video begins with her looking out of a car window in a no-makeup look and then transitions to show her outfit change. Taylor wore a short black dress, cheetah-print heels, a graduation cap and gown, complemented with her signature red lips. Next, the video shifts to Taylor’s beaming dad taking photos of her in a celebratory grad-decorated room. The TikTok concludes with Taylor fully dressed in grad-attire riding in the backseat of a car.
Taylor Swift’s Heartfelt Commencement Speech to NYU Grads
Taylor delivered one of the most heartfelt and motivational commencement speeches to the NYU graduating 22’ class. The speech consisted of witty jokes, personal anecdotes, and inspiring advice all in true Taylor fashion.
One key central piece of advice she shared was to make mistakes, “my experience has been that my mistakes led to the best things in my life and being embarrassed when you mess up it’s part of the human experience. Getting back up, dusting yourself off, and seeing who still wants to hang out with you afterward and laugh about it – that’s a gift.”
