Fashion week is always creating, inventing and become more and more inclusive, this past month September has been fashion week each week, but in a different location, and sharing new trends each time.

Wheels On The Runway:

Models transported themselves down the runway this season on wheels. Tombogo collaborated with Segway to show sustainability in both fashion and transportation while models in Harriet Eccleston’s designs showed adaptive wear while in their wheelchairs to showcase functional and innovative fashion for an often-overlooked population.

Power Blues:

Blue is always a favourite for Spring and Summer, and it is forever changing and evolving…expect to see the most vibrant of blues next year, you won’t want to miss out on their debut.

Elevated Athleisure:

The groutfit is out. Activewear no longer needs to just be a sweatshirt and sweatpants. Designers are taking the athleisure trend and making it truly Fashion, without comfort how can one be truly fashionable?

Artistic Prints:

The prints we saw on the runway this season were beautiful enough to frame and hang in a museum. Prints, patterns and patchwork are no longer a basic trend, they bring culture and fashion together to be shared with the world.

Vests:

The perfect in-between-weather item is a must-have piece to add to your wardrobe this coming Spring. Vest’s are not a 90’s trend anymore, even though the 90’s trend is coming back in.

Spring Suits:

A vibrant and colourful suit makes a statement and is a programmable monochromatic moment for brunch or a meeting. A suit means power, and showing up in one means you mean business.

Purple:

Shades of purple were everywhere this season. Will one of these hues be the 2022 Pantone colour of the year?

Gender-Free Looks:

Left to Right: Erigo X, KELSE @ Oxford Fashion Studio LFW, Aimee Nielson @ Oxford Fashion Studio LFW, Tokyo Twiggy @ Oxford Fashion Studio LFW, First Nation’s Fashion @ Oxford Fashion Studio LF

Gender is totally a social construct and designers are taking notice and showcasing more fluid looks on the runway.

Show a little or a lot, but show something with tulle, netting, mesh, and ever so thin see-thru fabrics.

Oversized Outerwear:

These jackets are large and in charge and fabulous all at the same time. Keeping you warm is one thing, but keeping you looking chic and stylish is the next best thing.

Out of the trends from this year’s show, which trend will stick, and which is tempting you to try?
