Michael Oher

Fifteen days after her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, passed away Sandra Bullock is on the verge of being canceled. This isn’t because of anything Bullock has done; in fact, it has absolutely nothing to do with her.

This has to do with the recent controversy surrounding Michael Oher and his “adoptive family”, the Tuohys. Earlier this week it was discovered that Michael Oher had recently filed a petition to end his conservatorship under Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy. He claims that the Touhys tricked him into signing conservatorship papers believing that they were for his adoption. The Touhys never adopted him, but they do have the ability to make financial decisions on his behalf. They also have been making considerable profits off of projects based off of Michael Oher’s life.

The most prominent of these projects is the award winning film ‘The Blind Side’ which stars Sandra Bullock. In the film, Bullock played Leigh Anne Tuohy who, in a general sense, took Michael Oher off the streets of Memphis and into her family home.

Sandra Bullock The Blind Side

In 2010 Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for her performance, and this is how she ties into the recent drama. Right now, many people believe Leigh Anne Tuohy to be in the wrong against Michael Oher, and since Bullock found major success as Tuohy in ‘The Blind Side’ she has also, unintentionally, profited off of Tuohy’s deception, should it be proven true.

Now, because of this, some people are now calling for the Academy to confiscate Sandra Bullocks Oscar. Her ‘Blind Side’ costar Quinton Aaron, who played Michael Oher, has spoken up her defense saying it “doesn’t make any sense” and that “Sandra Bullock didn’t have anything to do with the real story that we’re reading as of right now”. “She gave a brilliant performance,” he continued “and that shouldn’t be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her”.

What do you think? If Michael Oher’s claims are proven to be true, should Sandra Bullock go down with the ship?
