Sandra Bullock’s partner, Bryan Randall, has died after a three year private battle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). ALS is defined as “is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord”. The disease causes loss of muscle control and progressively worsens over time.

Randall’s family confirmed his death in a statement saying: “It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request. We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

His family asks that people show their condolences by donating to the  ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Sandra Bullock and Bryan Randall initially met in 2015 when he worked as a photographer at, her son, Louis’s birthday. Bullock called Randall the love of her life and a great example for her children, in her interview on the ‘Red Table Talk’.
