On Saturday, June 10, a news outlet published an article in which the author alleged that Britney Spears’ ex-husband fears for the singer’s life. According to the article, Kevin Federline was supposedly concerned that Britney may be doing meth and endangering her life.

“I fear she’s on meth — I’ve been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up. … It’s terrifying. She is the mother of my boys,” Federline allegedly confessed.

However, after the outlet published the article, Britney Spears and her ex-husband addressed the rumors and declined the supposed claims.

According to People, Federline posted an Instagram story that has been deleted in which he addressed the situation. Kevin thought the allegations were “repulsive” and “false” and “saddens” their family.

“[The] lies and attempts to exploit minors is click bait and another repulsive example of where, unfortunately, certain journalism has sunk today,” he said, as noted by the outlet.

After the allegations became public, the singer also addressed them via Instagram. In a recent post, she spoke about how the incident impacted her.

“The fact that people are claiming things that are not true is so sad … This may not even be them saying such things because it doesn’t make any sense to me for them to be saying that …” she captioned the post.

Britney’s attorney also addressed and declined the allegations made by the journalist.

“And moreover, Britney’s representatives were never contacted prior to the publication of the story, further demonstrating actual malice and reckless disregard for the truth,” the lawyer said, as noted by People here.
