A new poll has revealed how people in Britain have adopted some unorthodox methods of keeping warm during the winter months.
The Rising Challenge of Energy Bills
With many across the country struggling to pay energy bills as cold weather grips the nation, people are using zany techniques to keep the temperature up – including using their beloved animal companions as “personal heaters”.
Some are opting to heat their clothes in a microwave, while others eat loads of hot curries and even carry hot potatoes in their pockets.
People are also stuffing newspapers and magazines into their clothing in a bid to beat the cold snap.
It comes as a poll by PepsiCo showed 37 per cent of Britons are finding unique and quirky ways to ensure they don’t freeze this winter.
Rob Pothier, a spokesperson for the company, said: “It’s dark, gloomy and cold, so it’s no wonder Brits are using quirky techniques to stay warm.”
