Cancelled Podcast

August 14th, 2024: Influencer Tana Mongeau drops her Cancelled podcast cohost because racist tweets are resurfacing on the internet.

Tana and Brooke Podcast

Tana Mongeau said dropping Brooke Schofield from the Cancelled podcast was a no-brainer. She said seeing what Brooke said was horrific and that she would be wrong to keep her a part of the podcast.

“I couldn’t even couldn’t “a Black non-f” n, or fan,” would feel r” adding Brooke’s old Brooke’s,” Tana said. The content of Brooke’s old contained many racial and homophobic slurs. There are also tweets of Schofield supporting George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman was the man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012. Brooke claimed her comments from 2012 to 2016 were stemming from her upbringing. She claimed her grandpa was incredibly right-winged, influencing how she acted then. Mongeau fired back at Brooke’s apology, saying it wasn’t enough to pass off those comments about a rough upbringing.

Tana initially supported Brooke’s apology but apologized for her initial response on the podcast. She “regretted” doing so and was “going to beat myself up for that forever, quite frankly,” Mongeau said. “It’s not enough to write these things off as ‘we grew up bad,'” she continued. “And I think that I learned that now and that shows me that I still have things to learn and unlearn.”

Tana has admitted she has some learning to do herself. She has been called out in the past for insensitive comments similar to Brooke’s current situation. However, Tana says she is “more than happy to apologize until the day I die.”.
