Doja Cat claims she is done making pop music. The rapper is presently working on her upcoming album, Hellmouth, and assured fans categorically in a string of tweets that it will only contain rap music.

No more pop, Doja wrote in a tweet yesterday. She then added, “i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”

According to a tweet from the musician, she decided to record a rap album in reaction to critics who said her verses are “mid and corny.” She acknowledges this but says up until this point, she wasn’t trying to “prove anything.”

In a February interview with Variety, Doja said that her new album would feature “much more rap” and that she hoped to experiment with some punk elements. Regarding the next phase of her musical growth, Doja remarked, “For this next era, I’m going in a more masculine direction.”

Doja revealed that there will be a blend of hip-hop and R&B on the release, but she remained mum regarding the exact date. She remarked, “If I’m alone, I just go straight to R&B,” and she’ll be “getting harder into that.”

Doja Cat is a rapper. She has branded herself as that certain genre of musician since her “MOOO!” song went viral. However, because of her catchy, melodic approach, the industry still confines her to the pop and R&B categories.
