Saquon Barkley’s Monstrous Game leads Eagles to Victory in TNF Matchup against Commanders.
November 18, 2024- Saquon Barkley, the former New York Giant, is leading this Eagles team closer and closer to Superbowl aspirations after this commanding 26-18 victory.
Barkley rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns while also catching 2 balls for 56 yards. Both of his touchdowns came in the 4th quarter of the game.
Barkley has been phenomenal this season. Following his departure from the Giants, it seems he has found his groove in Philly and is finally back to the prime form we saw his rookie year. He is leading the league in Rushing yards (1,137) and carries (197)
Eagles Player Stats
The Eagles came out slow to start the game, trailing 7-3 at the end of the first half. Though as soon as the 4th quarter began the offense exploded. The Eagles would score 3 touchdowns to finish the game out 26-10.
Jalen Hurts finished the game with 221 passing yards and a staple tush push touchdown. His main targets of the game were AJ Brown and Dallas Goedert. Each caught 5 balls, Brown went for 65 yards and Goedert went for 61.
No passing touchdowns but still a solid game pounding the rock for the Eagles.
Commanders Player Stats
Daniels looked… not great. A late touchdown was his highlight which cut the lead down to a one-score game. He completed 22/32 passes for 191 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
He struggled to connect with their star wideout Terry Mclaurin, preferring to dump the ball off to running back Austin Ekeler.
The Commander’s lack of offensive weapons showed throughout the game. Terry was pretty much a non-factor throughout the match and the only that mattered came off a Brian Robinson Jr. run.
Defensive rookie, Mike Sainristil had a pretty good showing as well. The rookie cornerback flashed promise when going up on contested balls against the likes of seasoned veteran AJ Brown.
The Commanders are now 7-3 which seems impressive. However, they have only beaten one team above .500 this season.
Eagles vs. Commanders Recap
The game was a slow one, with little action until the 4th quarter. The highlight was certainly, without a doubt, Saquon Barkley. His flashy performance makes the Eagles worth watching.
Now, the Commander’s Superbowl aspirations have been put to rest. It is clear that the rookie quarterback still needs time to develop despite his inspiring play this season.
