On April 20, Elon Musk SpaceX Starship was launched over the South Texas coast. The rocket was one of the most impressive rockets ever built and had it test launch today, as noted by CNN. However, the team had to face an “unscheduled disassembly” that led to the rocket’s explosion just minutes after it took off. “As if the flight test was not exciting enough, Starship experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly before stage separation”, reads one tweet posted today by SpaceX.

On their Twitter account, SpaceX posted the video of Starship’s test launch. After the explosion, they stated that “teams will continue to review data and work toward our next flight test.”

“With a test like this, success comes from what we learn, and today’s test will help us improve Starship’s reliability as SpaceX seeks to make life multi-planetary,” SpaceX wrote in another tweet.

Was anyone on the SpaceX starship?

Fortunately, the rocket did not have a crew, according to this article. Following the explosion, Elon Musk congratulated the SpaceX team in a Tweet. In addition, “NASA Administrator Bill Nelson” shared a warm message for the team, as noted by People.

“Congrats to @SpaceX on Starship’s first integrated flight test! Every great achievement throughout history has demanded some level of calculated risk, because with great risk comes great reward. Looking forward to all that SpaceX learns, to the next flight test—and beyond.” read Nelson’s message, as seen in this article.
