Kuiper allegedly used the N-word during the broadcast segment when he was supposedly discussing a trip to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City. However, instead of saying Negro, he reportedly said the N-word. Later on in the broadcast, he addressed his earlier statement saying, “Welcome back to Kauffman Stadium. I just wanted to … a little bit earlier in the show, I said something, didn’t come out quite the way I wanted it to,” Kuiper said. “And I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said. And, like I said, I just wanted to apologize for that.”
The language used by Glen Kuiper during today’s pregame broadcast is unacceptable. The Oakland Athletics do not condone such language. We are working to address the situation.

Glen Kuiper Reddit
Reddit users have taken to the platform to discuss the latest incident involving Kuiper. Check out what some people had to say on a recent thread, below:
“Seems like a very unfortunate and ill timed flub. He was mid sentence about how excited he was to have visited the Negro League Hall of Fame while on that road trip,” said one user.
“Imagine having your career and legacy potentially ruined for uttering a two-syllable word, despite having seemingly no ill intent and not having used it in a derogatory context. That’s how powerful the word has become. What other single word has this much power?” argued another.
“I am tired of this cancel culture bullshit. If someone makes a mistake (that does not physically hurt someone) and then makes a heartfelt apology we need to forgive them,” stated another.
