The ‘The Bachelor’ franchise, which has for more than two decades featured singles in their 20s and early 30s, will be turned on its head in the fall when one fortunate older man sets out on a quest to find love.

The title of the upcoming series will be “The Golden Bachelor.” The lead actor hasn’t been revealed yet, and the women who are vying for his attention will be revealed later.

According to ABC, the new drama has a “whole new kind of love story—one for the golden years.” A “hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life,” according to the network’s synopsis.

The women that arrive at the mansion have lived through love, heartbreak, and joy and are yearning for a spark that will start a future filled with limitless possibilities. Will our Golden man ultimately turn the page and begin a brand-new chapter with the woman of his dreams?

For a long time, “The Bachelor” executives have been excited about the notion of a senior “Bachelor” season, but the show has been put on hold.

The network is now mainly relying on unscripted material, boosting its fall 2023 lineup with reality shows. It appears that the writer’s strike was what finally broke ABC.

It follows that “The Golden Bachelor” won’t be the only “The Bachelor” franchise program to screen this year; the fan-favorite series “Bachelor in Paradise” will also air its ninth season in the fall. The Golden Bachelor” will be broadcast on Monday nights following “Dancing With the Stars,” and “Bachelor In Paradise” will be broadcast on Tuesday nights in the autumn.

For years, casting calls for a senior “Bachelor” have aired throughout episodes of “The Bachelor” franchise, leaving viewers to wonder when or even if the show would ever premiere. The show was heavily considered for 2020, but plans were derailed when the pandemic interrupted production.

“The Golden Bachelor” is the most recent addition to the “The Bachelor” franchise, which also includes the flagship series “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette,” and “Bachelor In Paradise.” Produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in collaboration with Warner Horizon, “The Golden Bachelor” will air every Monday at 10 p.m. this fall.
