September 21st, 2024 – A Golden Bachelorette contestant has a restraining order.
Joan Vassos
One of the men competing for Joan Vasso’s final rose on The Golden Bachelorette was accused of stalking a woman just before filming on the dating show began. The accuser is 62 years old and lives in California. She made the allegations in a temporary domestic violence restraining order filed against contestant Gil Ramirez, 60, on June 11th, a few days before the current season of ABC’s Golden Bachelor spinoff entered production.
In her filing, obtained by E! News on September 20th, the woman alleges that Ramirez was an “ex-boyfriend.”. She also alleged he harassed her emotionally repeatedly over the course of two weeks, most recently on May 20th. In her temporary restraining order request, she wrote that despite telling Ramirez not to contact her, he arrived at her house and “made repeated unwanted contact” with her, family members, and friends. The woman also alleged that there were 25 daily contact attempts via phone, texts, and email and that he also showed up in person to confront her at places she frequents every day. However, The woman added that she sustained no injuries resulting from the alleged encounters with Ramirez. ABC hasn’t commented much about the situation. However, it seems Ramirez will have less screen time than initially filmed.
