The Grimm Series is Getting a Movie Reboot by Peacock
January 15, 2025 – NBC’s Grimm produced by original series showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf is getting a movie reboot at streaming service Peacock.
Airing from 2011-2017, NBC’s original dark fantasy Grimm series followed homicide detective Nicholas Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) during his duties to keep the balance between humanity and mythological creatures called Wesen. With a score of 89% on RottenTomatoes and 7,9 on IMDb, many fans deemed Grimm an exciting and thrilling series with a satisfying ending. A movie reboot on streaming service Peacock now promises to continue Grimm’s story.
Drop Dead Diva creator Josh Berman will produce the Grimm movie and work alongside original series showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf. Though not much of the movie’s plot has been revealed, many are looking forward to see Grimm return to the big screen.
Original Crew Returns for Grimm Reboot
ScreenRant revealed that “key figures from the original Grimm’s creative team” will be involved in the movie reboot, and they take this as an important sign. Regarding Grimm as “one of the all-time best paranormal procedural shows”, they think it is important that the original series finale is not undermined by the movie; especially since this is not the first attempt at a Grimm series spin-off. Variety reveals that in 2018 a spinoff series for Grimm was in the works but never made it past development.
Only time will tell if the Peacock movie reboot will have more success, but we look forward to finding out.
