Just last week it popped up on all social media platforms that only photos from 2019 resurfaced of Harry Styles dressed as cosplay Princess Ariel, aka The Little Mermaid.
As these photos shocked the internet it definitely did not shock fans as it was somewhat expected that Harry would do something like this. We (the fans) know that Harry isn’t afraid to make statements and show that clothes are genderless, he wore a dress on the 2020 December cover of Vogue.
These photos were said to be from his SNL hosting gig back in November of 2019. In the photos, Harry is seen in various poses, one with a cigarette, one with a champagne glass, and the best part has to be the seashell bra.
As we all know Harry is known to be one who supports everybody including the LGBTQ+ community, many people on Twitter and the internet commented a lot of backlash from these.
Some people stated that “The straights are so obsessed with being different,” and others “he wants the attention so bad.” The truth of the matter is Harry does things like this, or wearing a dress, or waving a pride flag at his concerts in support and solidarity of his fans who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, not mock them. With a platform like his own, Harry knows and hopes he can help and change the world to make it better for those who struggle to be themselves.
