Tell us all about The Slowdown, which is a labyrinth-style structure that transports visitors to three picturesque vacation destinations around the world.

The Slowdown was a special pop-up experience at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, open for two days. Visitors got to explore a labyrinth-style structure surrounded by digital displays showcasing different vacation destinations. This pop-up was designed to help people slow down and inspire future travel by experiencing destinations including the mountains of Courchevel, France at the Six Senses Residences Courchevel, the beaches at the InterContinental Bali Resort, and the city views at the Kimpton St Honoré Paris. It was just a taste of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ 6,000+ global destinations across 18 hotel brands.

Anyone interested in slowing down and experiencing what took place at the pop-up can visit www.theslowdownexperience.com on their mobile devices to unlock three augmented reality (AR) filters inspired by the destinations seen within The Slowdown structure, that can be easily shared across social media platforms.

As an entrepreneur in the wellness space, why is it so important for our minds and bodies to slow down?

As someone who is always working while balancing my business, family, and other projects in my life, I make an effort to set aside time to slow down and focus on my well-being. In a culture where we’re hustling nonstop, I want to show people how important it is to make time for travel that creates lasting memories, deepens our connections to each other, and improves our overall well-being.

What are some of your go-to travel tips you’ve learned over the years as both an actress and mom?

Tip #1: I’m all about incorporating wellness into my travels. It’s important to me to prioritize practices like meditation and fitness, even when I’m on the road. I also love having relaxing self-care nights during my travels to wind down. It’s these little wellness moments that enhance my travel experience and keep me feeling balanced.

Tip #2: Having a travel credit card is a must for me, and my top choice is the Chase IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card. I earn three times the points on every dollar I spend, and even more on dining and gas when I’m on the go. I also love that it’s always getting me closer to my next trip so I can create moments where I can slow down, relax, and be fully present.

How can we make traveling more mindful by taking the time to slow down?

Being a working mom, my life is always hectic. In a culture that pushes us to be constantly on the go, I want to remind everyone about the importance of making time for themselves and traveling. I think it’s crucial to unplug and slow down while on a trip. Traveling and taking it easy allows us to escape our busy schedules and focus on what truly matters: spending quality time with the people we love, enjoying ourselves, and being fully present. These moments create lasting memories that can improve our overall well-being.
