HOLR is chatting with content creator Kaeli Mae to discuss how she got her start in the industry, what it’s like going “mega-viral” online, and what’s next!

Kaeli Mae is best known for her popular “clean girl” TikToks where she shares top-trending organizational and lifestyle content with her growing fanbase. The content creator has over 14 million followers on TikTok who love watching and interacting with her aesthetically pleasing videos, where in which she highlights everything from fashion to beauty to home essentials.

Today, HOLR is sitting down with Kaeli Mae to learn all about how she got her start in the social media industry. In addition to talking about her popular content and how she incorporates the “clean girl” aesthetic into her videos, Kaeli Mae is opening up about her diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes in regards to how she hopes to encourage others to live their lives normally despite this autoimmune disorder.

Tell us about how you got your start in social media as a lifestyle influencer. 

I got my start on social media in 2020 when TikTok started really trending during quarantine, and I was inspired to create my own content! In 2021, my TikTok began to gain some following and by the end of 2021, I was able to quit my job to become a full-time content creator!

What can people expect when visiting your social media channels? 

All of my social media channels revolve around the same type of content, you can expect to see a lot of home, lifestyle, and aesthetic videos. I love filming my cleaning routines, morning routines, etc. I also do a lot of ASMR-style videos which people seem to really love!

You went super viral for your mini fridge restock TikTok videos back in 2021- what was this experience like? 

This was my first ever mega-viral video, and it was a crazy feeling!! This video really started it all for me I feel like, I gained a lot of new followers and interest in people wanting to see more organizing/cleaning content. Never did I think I would go viral like that, and it’s truly changed my life!

Talk to us about how your content has changed to incorporate more of the “clean girl” aesthetic. 

Over time, I’ve added a lot more variety to my content rather than just ASMR organizing/restocking videos. I do a lot of routines and vlogs now which is incorporating a lot of that “clean girl aesthetic” vibe!

It’s apparent that you love creating content based on trending fashion, beauty, and lifestyle essentials so what are some of your TikTok-approved must-haves from each category?  

I love this question! There are so many trends coming in and out alllll the time, sometimes it’s hard to keep up! However, I do have some all-time favorites!

Fashion: matching sweat sets will always be my favorite fashion trend! Skims and Amazon have the best!

Beauty: definitely an ice roller!! you can get them on Amazon, and I always use mine first thing every morning— I’ll never not start my day without it!

Lifestyle: This one’s hard! There are so many lifestyle essentials I use daily because of TikTok. One of my favorites would have to be the 5-minute journal— I’ll continue to purchase one of these every year! it’s motivating to write down positive affirmations and goals every day for myself!

You were diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Can you tell us more about how you hope to encourage others to live their lives normally despite this autoimmune disorder? 

I’ve actually been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old, so going on 20 years now! I hope to encourage others with this autoimmune disease to not ever feel like they can’t do or be anything because of it— it doesn’t stop anything! Sharing more of my life with Type 1 is a current goal of mine  

What’s next for you? 

2024 is a very exciting year! Lots of work, plans, and traveling! I plan to come out with a few exciting projects as well— really looking forward to everything to come.
