Teyana Taylor was New York Fashion Week’s model magnet this year. At Philipp Plein’s, the Blonds’, and GCDS’s fashion show, the triple threat’s fierce struts and powerful moves lured in the audience’s eye during every moment she was on the runway. Ultimately, her incredibly fit physique and undoubtable confidence would force anyone to do the standard double take, but with some classic hairstyles and impeccable makeup, Teyana Taylor brought us something refreshing. We must applaud her makeup artist @japanesefaces and hairstylist @arrogant_tae123, whose work backstage contributed to Taylor’s eye-catching looks.
For those who were awed by Teyana Taylor’s presence, and like me, thought about what products could best replicate her stunning makeup looks, your wondering stops here. Using a few of Sephora’s notable products, we too can strut down any walkway just as Teyana Taylor did.
1. Lil’ Kim 90s Inspired Hair and Makeup
At the GCDS Fashion Show, Teyana wore a neutral but glamorous makeup look.
How?
We can achieve a similar look using the Urban Decay Naked Palette, sold at sephora.ca. Start off by applying the shade SMOG to the entire lid as your transition colour, then take the shade HALF and apply it to the middle and inner eyelid. Next up, apply DARKHORSE to the outer eyelid, and a black pencil eyeliner to the lower waterline. Complete your eye look with mascara and some WISPIES lashes; and to complete the entire look, add some golden highlight to the upper cheekbones, brow bones, and the tip of your nose, along with a nude glossy lip.
2. Marilyn Monroe Inspired Bob with Loose Curls and Neutral Glam Makeup
In this photo, the dancer, actress and singer has another neutral glam look that doesn’t take away from the overall Philipp Plein piece that she wears. Nothing but an eye-catching yet subtle golden eyeshadow on the inner corner.
How?
A perfect substitute would be Fenty Beauty’s TROPHY WIFE, added with some mascara, a little bit of black pencil eyeliner added to the lower waterline and a pair of bold lashes. Finish off this look with Tarte’s AMAZONIAN CLAY blush, in the colour BLISSFUL and a shimmery golden highlight. For the lips, you can either use a clear gloss, or try Fenty Beauty’s GLOSS BOMB to add some more shine.
3. Wet Slicked Back Mane with Golden Lids and 90s Lip
This slick back hair adds a lot of sexiness to any look.
How?
A perfect way to achieve this look would be to first, apply a reddish chocolate brown neutralizer to the entire lid, an ideal shade would be LOW BLOW or HE DEVIL from the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. Next, use a lighter shade, such as LUMBRE to the middle of the eyelid. Once done with the eyeshadow apply a thick coat of NYX’s AQUA LUXE GLAM LINER, and complete the eyes with a pair of VELOUR LASHES or a pair of DEMI WISPIES. Line your lips with a chocolaty brown lip liner, like SmashBox’s DEEP CHESTNUT and any gloss of your preference.
