The original series ended in 2012, but that was not the end of the story. Nearly a decade later, Cosgrove, Trainor and Kress returned for a grown-up iCarly revival on Paramount+. Miranda Cosgrove as Carly Shay

Miranda Cosgrove remains closely connected to iCarly more than any other original cast member.

After the original series ended, Cosgrove stepped away from the spotlight for a period and attended the University of Southern California. She later returned to acting and became the executive producer of the Paramount+ iCarly revival, which reunited her with Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress.

Cosgrove has also continued her voice-acting career as Margo in the Despicable Me franchise.

In 2025, she starred in the Netflix romantic comedy The Wrong Paris as Dawn, an aspiring artist who accidentally joins a dating show filmed in Paris, Texas rather than Paris, France. Cosgrove also served as an executive producer on the movie.

And there is still more iCarly ahead.

Cosgrove has spoken about wanting to give the franchise a proper conclusion following the revival’s cancellation. A new iCarly movie is currently listed as in development, although fans should distinguish that from a completed or released project.

Jennette McCurdy as Sam Puckett

Jennette McCurdy’s path has been very different.

McCurdy played Sam Puckett, Carly’s fearless and sometimes mischievous best friend. She later starred alongside Ariana Grande in the iCarly spin-off Sam & Cat.

After stepping away from acting, McCurdy moved toward writing and directing. She has spoken extensively about her complicated experiences as a child actor and why she ultimately decided that Hollywood was no longer the career she wanted.

Nathan Kress as Freddie Benson

Nathan Kress grew up in front of the camera as Freddie Benson, the technically minded member of the iCarly trio.

After the original series, Kress continued acting and expanded into directing and voice work. He also returned as Freddie for all three seasons of the Paramount+ revival alongside Cosgrove and Trainor.

Kress has also built a family life away from the Nickelodeon spotlight.

He married actress London Elise Moore in 2015, and the couple have three children.

Jerry Trainor as Spencer Shay
