Among the noteworthy contenders for India’s official entry to the Oscars are films like “Zwigato,” “The Kerala Story,” and “RARKPK,” each bringing its unique narrative to the forefront.

The Oscar team and committee has already started the process through many screening in Chennai but the final announcement is yet to come, it is expected next week.

Everyone always waits for the Oscar awards whether fans, audience, or celebrities themselves. We have learned that the committee has received over 22 entries from all over India, and the decision will be made by a 17-member jury, headed by filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli.

“Some of the films, which have been sent to the Film Federation of India for Oscar selection, include names such as Anant Mahadevan’s The Storyteller (Hindi), Music School (Hindi), Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (Hindi), 12th Fail (Hindi), Viduthalai Part 1 (Tamil), Ghoomer (Hindi), and Dasara (Telugu),” says an alleged close source. More movies also added here such as Vaalvi (Marathi), Gadar 2 (Hindi), Ab Toh Sab Bhagwan Bharose (Hindi), and Baap Lyok (Marathi), their applications received, but are waiting for the fees.”

The process of selecting India’s official entry to the Oscars is no small feat. A committee of experts and professionals from the film industry is appointed to watch and evaluate the submitted films. The chosen film is expected to represent India’s cinematic prowess while resonating with a global audience. It’s a rigorous process that takes into account factors like storytelling, direction, performances, and technical aspects.
