June 17, 2024– According to this TikTok video posted by user @sydneymorningherald, Simpson placed fifth in the 100m butterfly at the Australian Swimming Trials which means he will not be going to the Paris Olympics this year as part of the Australian Olympic swimming team.

When did Cody Simpson start swimming

What most people don’t know is that Cody grew up swimming and on swim teams in which he did not start swimming recently, as noted here. He was allegedly a promising junior swimmer and won two gold medals at the Queensland state championships, as noted here. Apparently, his first major wins as a swimmer go back to at least 2009 as noted in the related link.

Simpson reportedly put his music career on pause in order to train and hopefully make it as part of the Australian swimming team for the Paris Olympics- which begin in July and end in August.
