Katie Thurston has confirmed that she has stage 4 Breast Cancer. The former Bachelorette star posted about her diagnosis on Instagram.

1st April, 2025-On the 28th of March, Thurston told her Instagram followers that she had recently received a cancer diagnosis. Specifically, Thurston confirmed that she had stage four breast cancer, which has also spread to her liver.

“Unfortunately I did find out today that my breast cancer has spread to the liver. It is fairly small, however, that does put me at Stage 4,” she said.

As outlined in The independent, the comedian found a small lump on her breast in February. However, she thought “it was going to be nothing.” The former reality show star found out about the cancerous spread when she eventually had a mammogram and biopsy.

Despite the unfortunate news, Thurston and her husband, Jeff Arcuri, are prioritizing starting a family. For instance, in a recent interview Thurston revealed that she had IVF before her cancer treatment.

“We dedicated two weeks before doing anything else breast cancer-wise to doing IVF,” Thurston said. “A lot of women don’t even realize that you can take 10 days to dedicate time to your reproductive health and your future family plans. We were able to retrieve 17 eggs and of those 17, six became embryos.”

Thurston made her television debut on The Bachelor in 2021. Shortly afterwards, she led The Bachelorette in June of that year. While this is unfortunate news, there are multiple charities and companies actively raising money and awareness towards this cause.
