The contemporary and eclectically-designed Kimpton Saint George Hotel is a must-stay in Toronto’s bustling city core, in which the accommodations and amenities thoughtfully bridge elements of bordering Yorkville with the bohemian hipness of the Annex. 

Located at 280 Bloor Street West, Kimpton Saint George is a sophisticated-yet-playful boutique hotel with 14 stories and a total of 188 artfully designed guest rooms that perfectly capture Toronto’s vibrant culture and personality. 

HOLR was invited to experience how Kimpton Saint George tastefully reflects the unique cross-section of Bloor-Yorkville’s exclusivity and artistic charm, and these are our thoughts.

Accommodations

Upon arrival, guests are immediately welcomed into a contemporary lobby, a foreshadowing of structured architecture, clean lines, and eclectic style to follow as you explore the premises. 

The boutique hotel is home to 20 suites, including a luxurious Presidential Suite, approximately 1,500 square feet of meeting and event space, and an on-site gastropub, in which Kimpton Saint George honours the intersection of arts, culture, and expression. 

The vision behind the hotel’s design is to ultimately convey the untold story of Toronto and all of its eclectic eccentricities. As a result, Mason Studio and the Kimpton design team worked together to design a narrative that evokes and embodies the heart and soul of the Annex while shining a light on the more intimate details of Toronto. In spotlighting local talent, the hotel exterior features a hand-painted owl mural by renowned Toronto street artist, birdO. As well, additional design accents such as the reception space feature an original hand-painted mural by artist Tisha Myles and depict a misty Toronto-inspired scene in a nod to traditional landscape paintings. 

When it comes to the rooms, Kimpton Saint George prides itself on offerings guests a space to truly realx and unwind. Accented by a perfectly balanced cool and warm colour palette, each room features a thoughtful mix of wood details, sleek textures, and elegant touches that unite to create a serene escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Upon entering our King room, HOLR was greeted by polished fixtures, plush furniture, a modern bathroom with marble vanity accents, and local art that truly brought the space to life. The room looked and felt clean yet offered a comforting sense that ensured we felt right at home upon arrival.

Amenities

One of HOLR’s favourite things about Kimpton Saint Goerge is that inspiring activity and connection are at the heart of the boutique hotel. As a result, guests can enjoy amenities such as; complimentary bikes, a bright, open-concept fitness center, yoga mats in every room, morning coffee and tea in the lobby’s credenza, as well as a hosted social hour with wine every day between 5-6 pm.

Pet friendly?

Yes! Kimpton Saint George is in fact, pet-friendly. The boutique hotel offers pet-friendly accommodations for you and your furry friend, which include no weight or size limitations or additional fees.

As a result, separate pet-free floors ensure guests with pet allergies are also cared for. In terms of additional amenities, Kimpton Saint George offers a Doggy Bathroom, which is also available upon request. 

Dining Options

Upon checking out the next morning, HOLR enjoyed breakfast at The Fortunate Fox, which sits adjacent to Kimpton Saint George, and is accessible through the hotel. This hip gastropub offers a familiar yet refreshing experience and features an elevated take on the classic pub with a menu of delectable items made from scratch.

Breakfast at The Fortunate Fox was an absolute delight. Comforting morning favorites such as eggs (cooked to your liking),  fruit, and potatoes were delicious while a selection of tea and coffee were served to compliment the hearty meal. The Fortunate Fox also offers lunch and dinner options along with a wide selection of local craft beers and cocktails that can be paired with any dish. 

The hotel is also in an incredibly convenient location which features numerous dining options that are situated close by (within walking distance!) and are available to check out and experience during the course of your stay.

Location Perks

Kimpton Saint George is located between Huron and St. George Streets. If you’re heading out and about during your stay, simply walk east from the hotel to discover Toronto’s upscale Yorkville, featuring high-end retailers and trendy restaurants. 

If you head west, deeper into the Annex, you will find a vibrant neighborhood with an eclectic mix of arts and culture. HOLR took the time to explore all around Kimpton Saint George and appreciated the hotel’s convenient location, which is perfect for

The Kimpton Saint George is a must-stay in Toronto. The winning combination of luxurious room accommodations, amenities, and location perks make this a one-of-a-kind stay in the city’s bustling Yorkville neighborhood core.
