September 6th, 2024 – Emily Armstrong is taking place as the new lead singer in Linkin Park.
Linkin Park New Album And Tour
Rock band Linkin Park is regrouping with a new lead singer. On September 5th, the band announced Emily Armstrong as the new vocalist and plans for a new album and tour this fall. Armstrong, previously of the Los Angeles-based rock band Dead Sara, debuted during a live-stream concert the same day. Unfortunately, the band’s old lead singer, Chester Bennington, passed away in 2017.
Armstrong joined as co-lead vocalist, and a new drummer, Colin Brittain, is replacing Rob Bourdon. The group, which was founded in 1996, is composed of longtime members co-lead vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, and DJ Joe Hahn. Many fans are excited yet skeptical about the band’s return. Fans are excited to hear new music but are reserved about the band returning without Chester Bennington as lead. However, Armstrong and the rest of the band are ready to share the new Linkin Park with the world.
The band will embark on a six-city tour with shows in Los Angeles (September 11th), Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 16th), Hamburg, Germany (September 22nd), London (September 24th), Seoul, South Korea (September 28th), and Bogotá, Colombia (November 11th). It plans to extend the tour in 2025.
