Pamela Anderson relished the challenge of starring in ‘The Last Showgirl’.
The 57-year-old actress has received rave reviews for her performance in the Gia Coppola-directed drama movie, and Pamela admits that it’s totally transformed her career.
“I Knew I Had to Do It”
“I didn’t have a real strong agent or anyone with any vision or belief in me. Now I do, but only because I did ‘The Last Showgirl’. You have to get a project that you can sink your teeth into to show people that you’re more than where you’ve been pigeonholed.”
Pamela – who stars alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Brenda Song, and Billie Lourd in the movie – was meticulous in her preparation for the project.
She shared: “I prepared for it like I would a play.
“I knew the script from beginning to end inside and out and backwards before I even got to Las Vegas. But then you throw it out the window and you just let Gia direct you.”
Pamela recently revealed that she’s always been “very curious about the craft of acting”.
The Hollywood star found fame as Casey Jean ‘C.J.’ Parker in ‘Baywatch’ in the early 90s – but Pamela always knew she was capable of even more.
Curiosity About Acting Beyond Baywatch
“I was curious about it – I would be sitting on the floor of Samuel French, reading Tennessee Williams and Eugene O’Neill plays. I didn’t know how to get from there to there, but I just had this dream. I always kept it a secret that I could be more than I was doing.”
