A portrait of Princess Catherine (Kate) was unveiled- and stirred quite a controversy online.
As outlined in this TikTok video posted by user @matta_of_fact, the July 2024 issue of Tatler Magazine showcases Princess Kate on the cover in a new portrait, as the platform has seemingly always been a strong supporter of the Monarchy.

“To say people have thoughts on the likeness is an understatement,” claims the TikToker. “We can all agree, the face looks nothing like Kate,” she continues. However, the TikToker explains that this may have allegedly been intentional.
The portrait was painted by British-Zambian artist Hannah Uzor who reportedly uses history and memory in interesting ways in her portraits. Allegedly, Uzor relied on Getty Images for photos of Kate to bring this portrait to life as this is a commissioned portrait of Kate Middleton, but it is not an official Royal portrait. Uzor did not get any sittings with Kate in person. As a result, she seemingly layered photos of Kate online to create this portrait of the Princess. She also layered her personality into this portrait, as the TikToker explains. For instance, she used Kate’s most recent cancer diagnosis video to depict her personality and how she faces adversity.
